Woah, it's been a while!
This summer has been amazing, I've been incredibly busy, and incredibly blessed.
All told, I've spent 4 weeks at camp: two for my youth group (one week with the high school youth group, then one as a leader for the middle school one), and then two on the Okanagan Lake up in Canada (again, one week as a camper, and one as a counselor for younger girls). That, let me tell you, was incredible.
Throw in a church camp out, lots of visiting friends and relatives, and plenty of sleepovers. I'm running into the upcoming school year crazy busy and chronically sleep-deprived. (College, here I come!)
Ah the school year! I haven't actually started yet, much to the annoyance of my friends. My homeschooling career has finally come to and end, and I find myself now enrolled at Whatcom Community College. Remember Mean Girls? Something tells me I might be a lot like that--adjusting to a classroom setting and a whole new set of people. Lydia Albert, meet the crazy world.
But unlike Kady, I'm certainly not too worried about the social aspect of it--I never go on campus without running into several people I know. I have friends from church, from youth group, from random activities, from all over the place taking classes there as well. My friends and I are already liking the flexible schedule, and the fact that all the other losers started school a week ago and we don't start until the 24th.
Am I nervous? Not just yet. Right now I'm just super excited. But wait for it, I still have a couple weeks to go before I start wigging out. I'm so happy to have amazing friends, smart parents, and a merciful God.
Let's see, what else am I up to? I have youth group twice a week. Wednesday is for high school, when I get to see all my friends; on Thursdays I'm a leader for the middle school group. It's been amazing to see God work in both groups, and I'm so blessed that He lets me be a part of it.
I also have dance and a [thriving] social life. I'm not sure how serious to get with dance this year. I'm taking ballet and hip hop for sure, and I may or may not be on a performance team. Tryouts are this weekend. If I make the team, awesome, if not, I'll know God has other plans. Whatever I'm doing, I've just decided to work at it with all my heart, 'because it is the Lord God you are serving, and not mere men.'
